In many ways a Friends meeting is like the "Lost and Found" of life. We don't find the description of people as being 'lost' offensive...for Jesus had much to say about lost things: lost coins, lost sheep, lost (prodigal) sons. We realize that things can only be considered 'lost' if they belong to someone, otherwise they are only discarded and unwanted. We belong to God...He created us in His image and likeness. We belong to God...we are bought with a price. None of us are unwanted...none of us are discarded. 'Hereby hath God commended His love toward us in that while we were yet sinners in due time Christ died for the ungodly.' We are lost and found.
